A BRIEF HISTORY
Carrión, Laffitte & Casellas, Inc. was established in January 1, 2004, the result of the merger between Carrión & Laffitte, Inc. and CF&O (Casellas-Fernandez & Olivencia) Insurance Brokers, Inc.
Carrión & Laffitte, Inc. was originally founded in August 2001 by Jose B. Carrión, III and Rafael Laffitte when both principal partners left their top management positions at Aon Puerto Rico and decided to establish their own insurance brokerage practice.
CF&O Insurance Brokers, Inc. was originally founded in October 1999 by Antonio (Tony) Casellas and Carlos Olivencia when both partners left their top management positions at Casellas & Company, Inc. to also venture into business on their own.
Today, CL&C has evolved as the largest locally owned insurance brokerage firm in Puerto Rico. It manages insurance programs for some of Puerto Rico’s most important companies. The corporation has a staff of 41 outstanding professionals and its ownership structure is comprised of 7 partners.
The company provides a full array of services through a corporate structure comprised of seven separate departments/practices including: Commercial Lines, Construction, Specialty/Financial Lines, Personal Lines, Employee Benefits, Claims Management, and Risk Management and Loss Control. All company departments are overseen by one of the firms Principal partners.
